The Stress Effect

An Introduction

I am a doctor of chiropractic who has specialized in treating stress-related disorders for the past 25 years. My fascination with the effects of stress on health began as I observed symptom complexes in my patients that were often complicated and bizarre, and were not being particularly well-managed by their medical physicians. In fact, the underlying causes of many stress disorders are utterly different from what you might imagine, and what conventional ‘wisdom’—with its emphasis on psychological and ‘New Age’ self-help ‘cures’—would have us believe.

When your stress hormones are perpetually unbalanced, the way you perceive your life and the way you respond will be equally unbalanced, even though you may believe that this is just how life is supposed to be. I am inviting you to take a journey with me and see stress in a completely different light. Once you truly grasp the inner workings of stress, I believe your experience will be similar to that of a person who doesn’t realize how bad their vision is until they try on a pair of eyeglasses.

Please take the time to look around my website; the information on this site could save your life. My forthcoming book based on years of research and clinical application, The Stress Effect – Discover the Relationship Between Stress and Illness and Reclaim Your Health, offers detailed guidelines for diagnosing, testing and treating cortisol and other hormonal imbalances.

The Stress Effect – Discover the Relationship Between Stress and Illness and Reclaim Your Health is published by Avery, a member of Penguin Group (USA) Inc., and is available from major bookstores as well as your independent bookseller.

Sincerely,
